WordPress Project – Create a Website for the 100th Anniversary of “Dr. Petar Beron” High School

Project Assignment

Develop a website using WordPress — either individually or in a team of two or three people.
Choose a topic related to your school or create your own original idea.

For guidance, you can follow the previous lessons:

  • Lesson 1 – Installing WordPress and connecting to a database

  • Lesson 2 – Creating pages, categories, and posts

  • Lesson 3 – Backing up and exporting your website

Recommended Steps

  1. Come up with a suitable domain name
    Example: beron.bg

  2. Create a new database, following best naming practices.

  3. Choose an appropriate site title and description that match your topic.

  4. Create an “About Us” page.
    Include information about your team:

    • The names of all team members

    • What each person contributed

    • A short description of your project’s goal

  5. In the Posts section:

    • Create 2–3 main categories

    • Add 2–3 subcategories that are logically related to your website’s theme

  6. Create several posts and assign them to the correct categories.

  7. Decide whether your homepage will be static or display your latest posts.

    • If it’s static, create a “Home” page and set it as the homepage.

  8. When the project is complete:

    • Back up your website (as shown in Lesson 3)

    • Save the archive on a USB drive, cloud storage, or email

    • Name the archive file using your team members’ names, for example:

      ivan_petya_kiro.zip

  9. Submit your project to your teacher by the assigned deadline.

Evaluation

Your project will be graded based on theme, structure, layout, and design.
Teams may use placeholder text (Lorem Ipsum) and sample images
if they prefer to focus on design and structure.
